Bryan Robson will make an emotional return to Old Trafford on Saturday evening, knowing a Manchester United win could see his West Bromwich Albion side make a quick return back to the Football League Championship. 

The Baggies have been tipped for the drop all season, until a sudden change in fortunes under the leadership of the former United midfielder lifted the Midlands side out of the bottom three.

However, back-to-back Premiership defeats against Middlesbrough and Arsenal mean Bryan Robson's side could have their fate sealed at Old Trafford this weekend. The Baggies are a point behind 17th placed Southampton and 18th placed Crystal Palace who do battle at Selhurst Park this Saturday.

If that 3pm clash has a winner, Bryan Robson will be telling his side they will need victory at the Theatre of Dreams to stand a realistic chance of avoiding the drop, and would confine the club to relegation.

Sir Alex Ferguson has stated he will make no favours for Robson in tomorrow's game, commenting: "It is a very difficult game because we know what it could mean for Bryan."

"Don't forget we still have second place to play for. Liverpool go to Arsenal on Sunday needing a win, so we have to keep chasing for as long as we can."

"He is one of the greatest players I have ever had. He has done a fantastic job at West Brom and I genuinely hope they stay up."

Ruud van Nistelrooy is expected to return to the starting line-up following an ankle complaint while full-backs Gary Neville and Gabriel Heinze are still unavailable.

Kieran Richardson, on-loan with the Baggies from United, is ineligible due to terms in his transfer to the Hawthorns.
