Ferguson Backs 'Unlucky' Kleberson

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has defended midfielder Kleberson from critics dubbing the Brazilian as another 'flop' by insisting that the World Cup winner has been unlucky during his time in England.

The Scotsman also stated that the club have not agreed a fee with Corinthians for the player and will monitor his fitness following his recovery from a nagging ankle problem.

"Kleberson came back to training with us on Tuesday and we shall be monitoring his fitness" revealed Fergie.

"There has been no deal struck with Corinthians"

"He is our player and we are going to see how he does now he's over this latest setback"

"Some people just don't seem to possess the luck you need when you start a new career, especially when you are in a new country" he added. "Kleberson hasn't had that good fortune. In terms of quality he is a fantastic footballer and hopefully things might change for him now with us."

The World Cup winning Brazilian has been plagued with injuries and family problems ever since his £6 million move to Old Trafford from Atletico Paranaense over one-and-a-half years ago.
