Manchester United trio Gary Neville, Wes Brown and Wayne Rooney thankfully came out of England's dreary goalless draw with Holland unscathed and free of injury.

Inevitably, half-baked England tactically failed to break down Marco van Basten's outfit despite Shaun Wright-Phillips scuffing a few chances inside the box early in the first-half.

The Manchester City midfielder, playing on both flanks of a weak 4-3-3 formation, tried too hard somewhat to convert passes from Red Devil Gary Neville.

Wayne Rooney had a substandard game, being replaced after the hour mark, however, Wes Brown played well without ever really excelling at the heart of defence with Jamie Carragher.

Stuart Downing and Andrew Johnson won their first caps for England as second-half substitutes. The duo weren't rewarded sufficiently by Sven Goran Eriksson for their dazzling Premiership performances, having to play out of position.

United's Gary Neville and Wes Brown completed a full ninety minutes and avoided Eriksson's second half substitute-shower.

Just over 40,000 fans appeared for the game at Villa Park and have every right to come out and ask for their money back.
