Boss of Norwich City Nigel Worthington has admitted that young Manchester United winger Kieran Richardson is considered as a potential transfer target to bolster his side's chances of remaining in the Premiership next season.

Richardson has never got a clear league run as a Red Devil and is looking for a loan deal to earn vital first-team experience, and Norwich's situation could fit the bill nicely.

Worthington was recently hit by the news that on-loan forward David Bentley, from Arsenal, has been ruled out of action for a while and that may prompt a loan move for Richardson.

"He's one of the players that has been mentioned," Worthington revealed.

"A lot of these big clubs that can free numbers of personnel are in a lot of competitions. They tend to stick their younger players out in the FA Cup and other competitions."

"He's one of many that's been mentioned. We just have to wait and see."
