Manchester United's £12.5 million striker Louis Saha made an impressive comeback as Ricky Sbraiga's reserve side lost 3-2 to Birmingham at Moss Lane, Altrincham. Fans protested before the game, warning US tycoon Malcom Glazier away from the club.

The Frenchman has been restricted to just two first team appearances this season due to a number of lengthy injuries but is set to make a return to the first team very soon.

"I've been working very hard. I don't want to get injured again." admitted the former Fulham front-man.

"I feel okay, although I needed a few minutes to get confidence about my fitness." he added.

Saha set-up Mark Howard fire the second-string into a lead but the Blues equalized the scoring courtesy of a fine Julian Gray effort. David Bellion's well struck set-piece put United ahead yet again, however, defensive frailties allowed Marcos Painter to grab two goals and win Birmingham the game.
