Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly keeping a close eye on Stockport County starlet Adam Le Fondre, who has attracted interest from other Premiership clubs.

18 year old Le Fondre has sparked rave reviews in the Hatters' youth academy last season with a phenomenal goal scoring record.

The striker marked his senior debut for Stockport last week with a fantastic goal in the first round of the LDV Vans Trophy against rivals Bury. The Hatters won 3-1 thanks to a goal from Le Fondre in extra time.

United's growing relationship with close neighbours Stockport is likely to give The Red Devils an edge if it comes to a transfer auction.

The supporters at Edgeley Park have been frustrated with recent performances from their club and lay 24th out of 24th in League One.
