Ferdinand Pleased to be Back
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has spoken of his joy of being back in action for The Red Devils after suffering a grueling 8 months out with a drugs ban.

Ferdinand returned to action yesterday night, starring in United's 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.

"The fans were fantastic, as soon as I came out for the warm-up and until the last minute. It was just nice to get out there and play. It was all about football" said the centre-half.

He added: "It's never going to be easy. It's all new again. Eight months out is a long time. It was nice to get out there, defending again."

The £30 million former Leeds United man is now tipped to start for England again in their World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Azerbaijan next month.

"I love playing for Manchester United and I love playing for England,"

"I'm concentrating on playing for Manchester United and whatever comes afterwards is a bonus." said Ferdinand.
