Manchester United reserves ran riot in their first Points Reserves League North game of the season and beat Welsh outfit Wrexham's second-string 4-1. Irish defender Paul McShane, fresh from the pre-season tour of America, headed The Red Devils into an early lead. Hobbs in Trouble

Manchester United reserves ran riot in their first Points Reserves League North game of the season and beat Welsh outfit Wrexham's second-string 4-1.

Young Irish defender Paul McShane, fresh from United's pre-season tour of America, headed The Red Devils into an early lead. McShane connected with Markus Neumayr's pin-point corner to break the deadlock after 8 minutes.

Midfielder Ben Collett added a second moments after the interval from the acutest of angles before David Poole thumped in a third.

A deflected 30-yard Levi Mackin attempt restored some hope for the 341 Racecourse attendance but Poole added another 2 minutes after with 5 minutes on the clock.

Ricky Sbraiga's side were in control throughout the match and were far too superior for Wrexham.

Final score: Wrexham Res. 1 - Manchester United Res. 4
