Manchester United are in friendly action against Burnley on Tuesday evening in a testimonial organised for former Clarets boss Stan Ternent. Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phillip Neville and Diego Forlan could all be in action for the Red Devils.

Manchester United send a side to Turf Moor on Tuesday evening to take on Lancastrian rivals Burnley, in a friendly match put on as a testimonial for former Clarets boss Stan Ternent.

Ternent spent six successful seasons as manager of Burnley, but his reign at the club came to an end last season after the First Division side struggled to make the impact supporters had hoped for and only just avoided relegation. His service as boss and a player in previous years has seen the club reward him with a prestigious testimonial match.

A big night of entertainment is expected as Ternent will watch from the stands. Guests such as Ian Wright, Peter Reid, Bryan Robson and David Moyes will be in attendance as Stan Ternent's side take on the F.A Cup winners. Ex-Burnley legends will be on show, and even a tribute band to the Proclaimers playing at half-time!

Sir Alex Ferguson is close friends with Ternent and showed no hesitation in taking a side to Turf Moor. Burnley seem to be expecting a strong United line-up, but with international matches taking place this week most household names will be missing from the starting line-up. However, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phillip Neville and Diego Forlan are not on duty for their countries and could play some part in the match.

Fans interested in attending can pay on the gate, with the game a 7.30pm kick-off. United have been handed an allocation of 2,000 for the friendly, but no news has been announced as to whether all these tickets for the away section of the ground have been sold - I would imagine plenty are still available.
