Manchester United will play Burnley in a testimonial match at Turf Moor on August 17th. The game has been organised for former Clarets boss Stan Ternent, who departed the Lancashire club last season after 6 years in charge. Manchester United have been confirmed as Burnley’s opposition for the Stan Ternent testimonial friendly at Turf Moor. The former Burnley boss was sacked as manager of the Clarets at the end of last season, but is well respected by club supporters and the game has been arranged as a thank you for his services as manager of the Lancastrian club.

Sir Alex Ferguson is good friends with Ternent and will take a strong United side to the Turf on August 17th. In addition to the game, numerous special guests will be in attendance and a night of entertainment is being arranged by Burnley Football Club for Ternent, who spent six years at the helm.

“The whole night looks as though it's going to be fabulous. I'm flattered that football legends like Sir Alex and Ian Wright are coming to support me. I'll enjoy being sat in the stands watching two great teams play a great game of football. It will be nice to be surrounded by so many of the friends I have made over the past 40 years. The committee are even giving my old pal Vinnie Jones a bell to see if he can be here too!” said Ternent after details of the game were announced.
