Despite being rated at only 50-50 to feature in England's 2nd Euro 2004 match against Switzerland on Thursday, Paul Scholes has proved his fitness and is now set to take on the Swiss in Coimbra. Scholes Set For Swiss Clash
Despite being rated at only 50-50 to feature in England's 2nd Euro 2004 match against Switzerland on Thursday, Paul Scholes has proved his fitness and is now set to take on the Swiss in Coimbra.

Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson confirmed that the Manchester United and England midfielder has trained with the rest of the team earlier today after missing a few session due to an ankle injury he sustained in their 2-1 defeat by the hands of Jacques Santini's France side.

"Paul trained with the squad and I am 100% certain he will be fit. It is very good news for us," said the Swede.

The news comes after Nicky Butt's unfortunate knee injury that will force him to miss the rest of the tournament.

Former United winger David Beckham, along with Sol Campbell, John Terry and Steven Gerrard also returned to training after suffering from respective injuries.
