van Nistelrooy has been dubbed as a serious doubt to feature against
Arsenal in the crunch FA Cup Semi-Final clash at Villa Park tomorrow.
The Dutchman suffered a minor knee injury in the dress-rehearsal league game against the Gunners last weekend, that ended up 1-1, but the swell has gradually got bigger and bigger over the past couple of days and had to miss Holland's international friendly against France. The 27-year old suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament a few years back that threatened his glittering footballing career and the swelling is reportedly to be around the area. "Ruud is a serious doubt," confirmed Ferguson. "It is looking very doubtful for him at the moment. All we can do is hope there will be a change over the next 24 hours." "It would be a bitter blow for us if he was to miss out because he is the man who can win us the game." "We do have plenty of players who can replace him though." Frenchman Louis Saha is cup-tied for the game so Diego Forlan travels to the team hotel after featuring for Uruguay on international duty. |
