Manchester United and South Africa midfielder Quinton Fortune is set to be out of action for at least one year after undergoing surgery on his knee. The injury is worse than doctors first thought and will now undergo rehabilitation, which will take some time. Hobbs in Trouble

Fortune Ruled Out For Some Time

Manchester United midfielder Quinton Fortune is set to be out of action for at least one year after undergoing surgery on his knee to re-pair a troubled cartilage.

The South African international who has recently transformed to a left-back to help United's defensive dilemma and injured his knee in training 2 weeks ago. Doctors seemed that surgery was necessary and will therefore miss the rest of United's troubled season and also most of next season.

"Fortune is out for a year." confirmed United boss Sir Alex Ferguson earlier today.

The injury is worse than doctors first thought and will now undergo rehabilitation, which will take some time.
