Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Scholes will be out of action for up to 4 weeks due to a re-occurrence of a groin injury. Scholes, 28, had an operation on both groins yesterday and doctors confirmed that he will be out for 4 weeks. Match Report

Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Scholes will be out of action for up to 4 weeks due to a re-occurrence of a groin injury.

Scholes, 28, had an operation on both groins yesterday and doctors confirmed that he will be out for 4 weeks.

''Paul Scholes's groin problem has re-occurred and he had to have surgery this morning on both groins.''

"He is likely to be out for three to four weeks." said an Old Trafford spokesman.

'The Ginger Wizard' will know miss the vital Premiership games against rivals Liverpool and Chelsea and will also miss out on the vital Rangers home game in the Champions League.

He is also set to miss England's friendly at Old Trafford against Denmark in November.
