Manchester United take on Southampton in their fourth Premiership game this season, at St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon. 

United go into the game having won eight of their last ten encounters with Southampton, scoring fourteen goals in their last four games against the Saints. 

Southampton have had a steady start to the season, earning three points from their opening three games with all of their games being draws. The Saints have proved a difficult side to beat in recent seasons, and their ambitions this season are no less than earning qualification to Europe through the league this season.

The southern outfit have Uefa Cup football to look forward to this season after reaching last years FA Cup final, and after years of battling against relegation, Southampton supporters have approached this campaign full of optimism, and with Gordon Strachan at the helm, they have a manager who is more than capable of getting the best out of his squad.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been boosted by the news that Mikael Silvestre and Rio Ferdinand will return for the Red Devils tomorrow. Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to be demoted to the bench after starting in the 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.  

Kleberson and Djemba-Djemba are both likely to be named amongst the starting XI ahead of Nicky Butt, with David Bellion retaining his place amongst the substitutes. 

Southampton have a few injury doubts- new signing Fitz Hall has a fractured toe, Darren Kenton has a minor thigh strain, and Garry Monk has almost recovered from a hamstring injury. 

One to Watch - Kevin Phillips
Phillips recently joined the Saints from relegated Sunderland, and will form a formidable strike partnership with James Beattie.
