Roy Carroll was in action for the reserves, as they opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park. Neil Wood gave United the lead in the fourth-minute, with Mark Kinsella equalising for the home side. Kleberson Work Permit Granted

United Reserves Open With Draw
The United reserve side kicked off their Premier Reserve League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Neil Wood gave United the lead in the fourth-minute with a powerful drive from just outside the Villa box, but the home side equalised courtesy of a Mark Kinsella 25-yard cracker.

The most familiar United face amongst the line-up was Northern Irish international Roy Carroll, who made a series of good saves as he looks to earn himself a regular place in the senior sides starting line-up.

United's next reserve fixture is against Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday, with Kleberson and Gary Neville both possibilities for the line-up.
