Veron Completes Chelsea Switch

Juan Sebastian Veron has completed his move to Chelsea, in a deal believed to be worth around £15million.

This fee is subject to rise, depending on Chelsea’s success domestically and in the European Cup.

Veron has signed a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge, and becomes the latest addition to Roman Abramovic’s expensive squad.

The Russian Tycoon has ambitions to buy his way to glory, with his ultimate aim being to win the Champions League. Abramovic has already splashed out over £70million on players, which he threatens is just the start of it. 

The sale has brought mixed reactions from many United supporters. The midfielder never fulfilled his potential at Old Trafford, which saw the Red Devils splash out £28million on him, two years ago – but many supporters feel his third season at United would see him shine. 

Fans are now demanding a big name signing, following the departure of both David Beckham and Juan Sebastian Veron, with many seeing the expected arrival of Kleberson as not enough to replace the two midfielders. 

Chelsea boss Claudio is delighted at his new signing, and believes his latest acquisition is the best player on the planet. 

"I think Veron is the best midfielder in the world and I'm very happy to have him at the club," said Ranieri. 

"We are getting together an excellent squad, and we must now look for success."

United first take on Chelsea on the 30th of November at Stamford Bridge, and with the possibility of a meeting against the London Club in the Champions League - the chance that Veron could come back to haunt us will worry United supporters!
