Manchester United players are desperate to see Ryan Giggs remain at the club, reports Paul Hetherington for the Daily Star Sunday.
The newspaper claims that the players fear that Giggs may leave the club following Jose Mourinho's appointment.
Giggs is reportedly considering his own future whilst on holiday, but United players are said to be making representations about the future of the club's assistant manager.
The Daily Star Sunday claims Rui Faria could take on the number two job at Old Trafford, with Giggs offered a more junior position.
Giggs joined United's backroom staff as player-coach under David Moyes, and took the reigns as temporary player-manager following the sacking of the former Everton man. Louis van Gaal retained Giggs' services as assistant boss, with the Welshman often linked with top jobs across the country.
