Late Blinder rescues point for United at Hawthorns

Blind grabs point

A rare strike from Daley Blind handed Manchester United a late point in an entertaining 2-2 draw at West Bromwich Albion.

The Dutchman hit a, well, blinding long-range effort with 87 minutes on the clock to peg bag the Baggies.

Stephane Sessegnon's superb first-half strike had handed the hosts a deserved half-time lead, before substitute Marouane Fellaini made an instant impact with a powerful equaliser.

The Midlands outfit, however, had wrestled back the lead thanks to a composed run and finish from Saido Berahino, but United struck back with only minutes to spare as summer acquisition Blind struck a career fourth goal.

United looked dangerous going forward, but were poor defensively yet again and the Baggies twice took advantage. A point, however, was a fair result, and Louis van Gaal will be buoyed by his side's late determination.
