Rebels claim first win as Ramsbottom beaten

As Louis van Gaal still awaits his first win of the season, breakaway club FC United of Manchester ended a run of draws with their first victory of the campaign, beating Ramsbottom 3-1.

Jordan Hulme handed the visitors an early lead, as the Rams looked to deny the Red Rebels, who themselves have drawn four games on the spin.

Karl Marginson's men staged a strong comeback, however - with Tom Greaves hitting a first-half brace, and Chris Lynch on target after the interval.

The win at Bower Fold leaves FCUM ninth in the Northern Premier League, two points behind the top five at this early stage.
