Moyes big price to replace Pulis

Former Manchester United boss David Moyes has been linked with a return to football management, as Crystal Palace seek a successor to recently departed Tony Pulis, but seems an unlikely choice as a 33/1 outsider for the role. 

Pulis sensationally left the London club just days before the start of the new league season, following reports of tension between the Welshman and co-chairman Steve Parish.

Disagreements over the club's transfer policy are thought to have played a key role in Pulis's shock departure, and the Eagles are now searching for a new manager.

Bookmakers are offering odds of around 33/1 on Moyes to take the helm at Selhurt Park, following his disastrous spell in charge of Manchester United.

The Scot was sacked, and replaced by Ryan Giggs on an interim basis, as United ultimately stuttered to a seventh place finish in the Premier League, the club's least successful league campaign in decades.

Malky Mackay and Tim Sherwood are thought to be frontrunners for the role, as Palace kick-off the Premier League season with a tough trip to Arsenal.
