UCL to return?

FourFourTwo Magazine has predicted a fourth place finish for Manchester United in this season's Premier League.

The magazine's season preview is much coveted amongst many football fans, and has tipped Louis van Gaal to lead United back into the Champions League at the first time of asking.

Haymarket's publication, however, have stopped short of predicting title success for LVG this season; an accolade they believe will go to Chelsea, followed by Arsenal and Manchester City in second and third place respectively.

Robin van Persie is identified as United's Key Player for the season ahead, with FourFourTwo stating his "closeness to Van Gaal could be United's trump card".

Noting that the bulk of United's charges "performed well below par last season", the 'zine believes that "with no European midweeks" United should head for a spot in the top four under LVG.

FourFourTwo's predictions are not always exemplary, as Charlton Athletic discovered in 2011/12. Predicted to finish in a lowly 18th spot, Chris Powell's men stormed to the league title, and auctioned off a signed copy of the original article!
