Cup win 'nothing special' for Swans boss Laudrup

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has become the latest Premier League manager to downplay the FA Cup's importance by shrugging off his team's win FA Cup win at Old Trafford, stating, to him, it was "nothing special". 

However, the former Real Madrid man acknowledged the importance of the win in the eyes of his players and the club's supporters.
 
Speaking after his side's 2-1 victory, he said: "The only thing that makes it special for me is I know how special it is for the fans and players," said Laudrup.
 
"But for me, I always said I'd rather win against Crystal Palace or West Ham or Stoke or Norwich or a side who are on more or less the same points as us.

"For me it's great because it's great for the players and the fans but if you ask me separately just for me, no, nothing special."

Laudrup, who prior to the game called for the abolition of FA Cup replays, watched his side book their place in the fourth round of the competition, thanks to goals from Wayne Routledge and Wilfried Bony, despite Javier Hernandez's first-half equaliser.

It was Swansea's first ever win at the stadium, and piled pressure on Red Devils boss David Moyes as a difficult first season at the helm continues.

United have suffered defeat in four of their last six home matches, and will be hoping to claim their first home win of 2014 on Saturday as Laudrup's men return to the Theatre of Dreams.
