Red Rebels grab late equaliser at Ilkeston

FC United of Manchester shared the spoils with Ilkeston in a 3-3 draw on Saturday in their first fixture of 2014.

Greg Daniels put FCUM ahead prior to the interval, but the home side pulled level on 51 minutes courtesy of a goal from James Reid.

Thomas Greaves’ lob put the Red Rebels back in front, but the Robins turned the game on its head as Reid grabbed his second before Joe Maguire fired home following an unconvincing punch from FCUM goalkeeper David Carnell.

However, Karl Marginson’s men grabbed a point at the death as substitute Tom Greaves turned home.

Promotion-chasing FC United sit sixth in the Northern Premier League, one point behind Kings Lynn Town and Rushall Olympic, who sit fourth and fifth respectively.
