Reports emphasising the seriousness of Marouane Fellaini’s wrist injury may have been premature, with the midfielder in contention to feature for his country in their key World Cup qualifiers against Croatia and Wales.
Belgium will confirm their place at Brazil 2014 if they avoid defeat in Zagreb on Friday evening.
It had been suggested that Fellaini would miss the games due to a wrist injury.
Having missed United’s trip to Sunderland on Saturday, the player visited a specialist on Monday – with reports indicating that the player may require surgery and faced a number of weeks on the sidelines.
However, the former Everton man has trained with the Belgium squad wearing a protective cast. He now looks set to feature for his country as Marc Wilmots’ men look to confirm their spot in South America next summer.
