RVP bags brace as Netherlands qualify for Brazil 2014

The Netherlands became the first European nation to qualify for the 2014 World Cup as they secured a 2-0 victory over Andorra, whilst Turkey beat Romania. Robin Van Persie bagged both Dutch goals as they claimed maximum points in Andorra la Vella.

Having rescued a point for the Netherlands in Estonia with a last-gasp penalty, RVP bagged both goals as the Dutch booked their ticket to World Cup 2014.

Victory for Louis van Gaal's side, their seventh from eight qualification games, paired with Turkey's 2-0 win over Romania, secured qualification for Oranje.

The United striker's brace came in four second-half minute as his country continued a fine qualifying campaign to date.

With a place in Brazil confirmed, the pressure is now firmly off the Dutch as they aim to complete an unbeaten qualification campaign against Hungary and Turkey.

Elsewhere in the Group, Hungary thumped Estonia 5-1 and sit second in Group D.

You know, even though it has been more than 12 months since we signed RVP I am still amazed that an article about RVP is big news on a Manchester United forum. One of the best signings we have ever made.
