Match Postponed

Arsenal have gone top of the Premier League on a weekend which saw Manchester United's trip to Blackpool postponed. The Gunners secured top spot with a narrow 2-1 home win over Fulham, whilst third-placed Chelsea dropped points again as Everton netted a late equaliser at Stamford Bridge.

Freezing conditions saw United's trip to Bloomfield Road become the only Premier League casualty of the weekend.

On-form United were heavy favourites ahead of the game and eager to bounce back from the four-goal League Cup humiliation at West Ham.

The game, however, fell victim to the weather. Referee Peter Walton called off the match on Friday afternoon with large areas of the pitch reportedly frozen solid.

United fall to second in the table after the weekend's action. Arsenal, following their win over Fulham, are a point clear and have played a game more; whilst Chelsea sit third having now won only one of their last six league games.

Rivals Manchester City consolidate fourth and remain in touching distance of the top following victory over Bolton.

Elsewhere, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion continue to impress and sit pretty in the top-half of the table following wins over West Ham and Newcastle respectively.

United return to action on Tuesday as Valencia visit the North West for a Champions League tie. Arsene Wenger's table-topping Arsenal then follow.
