Manchester United will travel to Scunthorpe in the third round of the League Cup. The Irons entertain Sir Alex Ferguson's men at Glanford Park on the week commencing September 20th.
Sir Alex will be expected to make a raft of changes as the Red Devils travel to Scunthorpe. Nigel Adkins' men have enjoyed an impressive start to the new season - claiming league wins over Reading and Crystal Palace and dumping both Oldham and Sheffield Wednesday out of the Carling-sponsored Cup. Elsewhere, Stoke City host Fulham in another all-Premier League clash; while newly-promoted Newcastle United travel to Stamford Bridge and struggling Villa host Blackburn. The full draw is as follows: Brentford v Everton
Arsenal's trip to White Hart Lane is the plum tie of the third round draw.
Big-spending Manchester City go to West Bromwich and Sunderland host West Ham United which means at least six top-flight clubs will be eliminated at this stage of the competition.
Portsmouth v Leicester City
Stoke City v Fulham
Chelsea v Newcastle United
Aston Villa v Blackburn Rovers
Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal
Millwall v Ipswich Town
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Notts County
Burnley v Bolton Wanderers
Birmingham City v MK Dons
Liverpool v Northampton Town
Scunthorpe United v Manchester United
West Bromwich Albion v Manchester City
Sunderland v West Ham United
Peterborough United v Swansea City
Wigan Athletic v Preston North End
Fans who go "all-in" in the unfair Automatic Cup scheme will perhaps be relieved to have saved a few pennies on this one.
