The new season starts this weekend with Manchester United opening the defence of their crown against Birmingham City on Sunday lunchtime. With Tevez and Ronaldo departing for big wages the new look team welcome former boo boy Michael Owen into their ranks as the Red Devils chase a record fouth successive title.
The opening fixtures being Birmingham City at home, followed by local trips to Burnley on Wednesday and Wigan on Saturday week.
Three opening fixtures which should give the team time to get to know the new system that Sir Alex Ferguson is sure to adopt with Rooney, Owen and Berbatov leading the line. Season ticket sales have picked up and a full house is guaranteed with 3,000 from Birmingham expected to support the blues from St Andrews.
