Manchester United's second-string continued their pre-season preparations with an impressive win at Rochdale. Two first-half goals proved enough for United's XI in front of just over 2,000 supporters at Spotland.

United eased to victory at Rochdale with two first-half goals enough to win a tame pre-season contest.

Fabian Brandy broke the deadlock for United as he latched onto a defence-splitting pass from Tom Cleverley before dispatching a fine finish; with Corry Evans' goal doubling the away side's advantage.

Rochdale's side was a mixture of senior players, youngsters and triallists and they improved after the interval - but the Reds were worthy winners as Solskjaer's men continued their pre-season campaign.

Next up for the stiffs is a tricky and long trip to Norwich.
