Despite claiming that he will make no more signings this summer, the press are strongly linking Sir Alex Ferguson with a move for Sevilla's Luis Fabiano. The 28-year-old Brazilian has already been subject to a bid from Italian giants AC Milan.

At a press conference on Monday, Sir Alex announced that his summer spending was over.

Despite banking some £83.5million from sales, the United boss has no desire to spend anymore than the £20million he has splashed out on Antonio Valencia and Gabriel Obertan.

However, press reports on the continent are insistent that the Scotsman is lining up an offer for Sevilla's Fabiano. The player impressed recently during Brazil's triumph in the Confederations Cup - winning the golden boot - and Fergie may wish to bolster his attacking options following the departure of Carlos Tevez, Frazier Campbell and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The former São Paulo frontman has already been subject of a big-money move from AC Milan and reportedly pleased with Sevilla to let him join the San Siro outfit. However, a move to the 2008 European Cup winners would almost certainly tempt Fabiano.

United would need to splash out around £18million to tempt Sevilla to do business.
