Manchester United have snapped up 15-year-old bright spark Sean McGinty from Charlton Athletic. League One Addicks were desperate to hold onto the teenage defender – but the player has opted to join United and will be hoping for a big future at the Theatre of Dreams.
McGinty
has been with Charlton Athletic since the age of twelve and is regarded as a
superb prospect for the future.
Despite
his tender age, the player has already represented Charlton at Under-18 and
reserve-team level but the London
club couldn't persuade him to stay at the Valley.
United
have struck a compensation deal for the player whom has made a name for himself
as a dominant centre-half.
McGinty
has caps for the Republic
of Ireland at Under-17
level.
Will McGinty prove a big hit for the future? Leave a comment below and join in the debate on the messageboard.
