Sampdoria bound?

Sampdoria are rumoured to be interested in taking Federico Macheda on a season-long loan next season - but the forward's agent has denied knowledge of any such move. The 17-year-old has enjoyed an incredible start to his Old Trafford career but would surely benefit from the first-team opportunities that a move to Genoa would provide.

Macheda burst onto the scene when his stunning last-gasp strike secured a fine comeback against Aston Villa as the Reds won 3-2.

The teenager then came off the bench and scored again as United edged another narrow victory at Sunderland.

However, at his tender teenage age, Macheda is unlikely to find regular first-team football at United next season and reports suggest that the player could be set to join Sampdoria on a season-long loan.

However, speaking to TMW, Macheda's agent Giovanni Bia has cooled the rumours: "I do not know anything. I do not know if the two clubs have talked but I do not think so."

With three games left of the current Serie A campaign, Sampdoria currently sit 12th in the table. The move would surely be a good one for Kiko - providing him with a chance to play regularly and to test whether he can find goalscoring form on a consistent basis.
