Calm down Rafa!

Rafa Benitez has launched an astonishing attack on rival Sir Alex Ferguson as the Premier League race heats up. The Liverpool boss claims that Fergie is the only manager in the top-flight who will never be punished for verbally attacking referees and match officials. The table-topping Scousers currently lead United by seven points, but the Red Devils do have two games-in-hand.

Benitez has reportedly withdrawn his support for the ‘Respect the Referee' campaign because of Ferguson's alleged behaviour.

"We had a meeting in Manchester with managers and the Football Association about the respect campaign." said the Spaniard.

"I was very clear; forget the campaign because Mr Ferguson was killing the referees, killing Mr Atkinson, killing Mr Hackett.

"During the Respect campaign - and this is a fact - Mr Ferguson was charged by the FA for improper conduct after comments made about Martin Atkinson and Keith Hackett.

"He was not punished. He is the only manager in the league that cannot be punished for these things. Now he is complaining about everything, that everybody is against United.

"We need to know that I am taking about facts, not my impression. There are things that everyone can see every single week.

Benitez claims he has no interest in entering ‘mind games' with Fergie at this stage of the season - but this astonishing attack on Sir Alex is sure to capture the headlines.

My thoughts on this are that the accusations aren't at all obscene, and are actually pretty accurate - The only reason Fergie gets away with that sort of manipulation and intimidation is because he has a knighthood and he abuses the title, i personally think all current football crowd should be stripped of these accolades including mbe and stuff like that, they are footballers and role models nothing more!

Fu_cking hilarious i have to say.

Fergie has a throwaway comment that they could bottle it and the fat Spaniard brings out his little list written down while nervously trying to read it

Im sure Sir Alex has had a wry smile and i really cannot wait to hear his reply. Good aul Rafa giving tips to Scolari for his arrival at Old Trafford

in reponse a little smug grin from fergie outta do it. would love it just love it if it golt another two page diatribe in reply.

he talks about respect then he accuses bennett. of handing us the league. hypocrisy at its best.. then says fergie is above the law just days after fergie got punished. clueless mofooker. keep it comin rafa. 1 measly page? surely you can do better that.
