The bookmakers are certain that Dimitar Berbatov will join Manchester United before the closure of the transfer window. Sir Alex Ferguson cooled talk of a move for the Bulgarian by claiming he was “less optimistic” about the move. However, you can get good odds with the bookies if you think the 27-year-old will still be a Spurs player on September 2nd.
Berbatov's price to leave White Hart Lane during the transfer window is 1/7 - with odds of 37/13 if you think he'll remain at Spurs beyond the first day of September.
The arrival of Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko from Spartak Moscow to North London have fuelled rumours - with United in desperate need of a new striker with Louis Saha on the verge of completing a move to Everton.
The transfer window closes at midnight on September 1st - with Champions League registrations needed an hour before that. A deadline-day deal certainly looks likely as it stands.
