Nemanja Vidic could be back in action in as little as two weeks. The Serbian centre-half picked up a nasty injury during United’s 2-0 win in Rome on Tuesday evening. The swelling to Vidic’s left knee was so bad that examination was difficult – but doctors have since uncovered that the knock is not as bad as first thought.
Vidic will miss United's Premier League clash at Middlesbrough, the second-leg against Roma and the crucial match-up against Arsenal - but Sir Alex Ferguson will be relieved that his defensive hard-man will not be out for the rest of the campaign.
United will be keen to have the 26-year-old back for the Lancashire derby sat Ewood Park on April 19th.
