Sir Alex Ferguson and Patrice Evra have both preached caution following United’s 2-0 away win in Roma. The Red Devils are now massive favourites to book a place in the semi-finals of the competition – but the job is not yet done, and United’s boss and left-back are both siding with caution. The second-leg is at Old Trafford next Wednesday - with last year's 7-1 hammering still on Roma's minds!

However, Fergie will not get complacent as United prepare to entertain Roma at Old Trafford after this weekend's pivotal Premier League clash at Middlesbrough.

"At this moment it is a fantastic result for us, but probably on the day of the game I will start to worry about it.

"The first thing we have to do is prepare properly for the match. We cannot take anything for granted with a place in the semi-finals at stake."

Evra, who played ninety minutes at left-back, is also not counting his chickens.

"We're very happy with that performance but there's still a second game to think about," said the Frenchman.

"In football you never know, but we're very satisfied with our position."

United now find themselves favourites to conquer Europe for a third time with most bookmakers. The Reds are priced at 7/4 - with nearest challenges Barca currently marked up at 3/1.
