Nicolas Anelka would be tempted by a move to Manchester United. The Frenchman is looking for clarification of his Bolton Wanderers future; but has hinted that joining one of the Premiership's "big four" does interest him. A potential swap deal for Kieran Richardson and Alan Smith has been suggested in the press as Sir Alex Ferguson continues his search for new attacking talent.

Nicolas Anelka has admitted that a move to one of the Premiership's top four clubs would be tempting.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford with a potential swap deal for Alan Smith and Kieran Richardson suggested in the press. The former Arsenal and Liverpool star is now looking for clarification of his future; but has admitted that a move to one of the Premiership's biggest sides does appeal to him.

"First of all I have to find out if Bolton want to sell me or not," said Anelka.

"Yes, I want to play for one of the big four but also want to help Bolton become a big Premiership club. I have to sit down to talk with Bolton to find out what they have planned."

Press speculation has suggested that new Trotters boss Sammy Lee is willing to listen to offers for the Frenchman.
