Coventry City are reported to be fuming at Manchester United's decision to sell goalkeeper Luke Steele to West Bromwich Albion.

The Red Devils agreed to send the youngster to the Ricoh Arena on a loan basis, with the Sky Blues desperate to find back-up for first-choice stopper Andy Marshall.

However, only one week into the spell, United recalled the 'keeper and immediately transferred him to Coventry's Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion, in a 'carrot' for the deal that brought Tomasz Kuszczak to Old Trafford.

This has left Micky Adams' men desperately searching for a new goalkeeper with the Championship season already underway.
