Former Manchester United utility man Quinton Fortune has joined fellow Lancastrian outfit Bolton in a one-year deal.

The South African international has spent a number of weeks training with the Trotters having been released from his Old Trafford contract, and has impressed Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce enough to earn a contract.

Fortune made 76 United appearances in seven years, though his spell with the Red Devils was largely troubled by injury. At the age of 29, the versatile midfielder will now try and lease new life into his career at the Reebok Stadium.

Good luck for the future.
