Recent Form : Although two great away victories at Peterhead and Methil took Queen's off the bottom again last Saturday, it was back to square one again on Tuesday as East Stirlingshire disposed of Dumbarton by the only goal of the game to enable the leapfrog game to continue unabated. Stirling Albion will consider themselves beyond Queen's reach if they can win at Hampden this Saturday, as that would take them 9 points clear of The Spiders with only four games remaining. A win for Queen's on the other hand would take them to just three points behind The Beanos and, if East Stirlingshire lost at home to Brechin (2.00pm kick-off), that would make the final run-in very interesting indeed. Last Saturday Stirling Albion disposed of 'Shire by 1-0 at Forthbank, this valuable victory following a 2-0 defeat at Dumbarton and home defeats to Brechin (1-3) & Montrose (0-1).

Likely Outcome : All of the previous three encounters this season have been hard fought games and Stirling hold the upper hand having won 3-2 at Forthbank after the earlier no score draw at that same venue. The previous Hampden game finished 2-2 so a win for Queen's would make it honours even for the season. If Queen's can field an unchanged team for the third game in a row and have the sense to avoid playing high balls down the middle for Kenny Brannigan to lap up, their pace on the flanks should get them in behind those tired old legs and cause some damage. a 2-0 win to the rampant Spiders.
