What may the next few days hold for us? I mention what may happen in the next few days with the return of Ivano in the following article. Ivano is back this week after being in Italy on a scouting mission. Who will he return with or have lined up for next season?


Most people think Ivano will come back with another Claudio Caniggia signing? Who knows with Ivano as manager? Rumours are going around that Roberto Baggio will be signing with Dundee. Ivano is a man of mysteries with more contacts than George Bush. If you were to tell somebody down the pub that Ivano is coming back with Roberto Baggio and it was on the news the person is most likely to believe you Arab or no Arab. But unless they’re a Dundee supporter they will probably be highly jealous.


Will it be a signing like Zura Khizanishvilli a player who is still young and a star of the future that you’ll be proud to say used to play for us? A player who’s club would not sell for less than 6 million even though they went bankrupt for him cause they know he was worth no less. A player that will probably be at Dundee for the next few years on a long term contract giving solid performances every single game then when he is ready to move to a big European club or maybe stay at Dundee cause we are the big European club.


Maybe the signing will be a player of the stature of Walter Del Rio. A not so young player but a not so old player. Somebody who will be a solid player for our team with good knowledge of football. Players who can teach the younger players but still learn from the older players. A player that would go out of his way to make sure that the fans are happy no matter how busy he is. A player who is happy to stay at Dundee for the years to come and probably finish his career with us, or if needed for the club to survive to move on.


Maybe Ivano will not come back with some foreign players but will go for a good home grown Scottish player that will always give 150% and try his best to be a future Scottish cap with Gavin Rae leading as an example. Somebody that will understand the fans and not put his head down when the fans are shouting abuse at him.


Whoever it is Ivano signs a top football player, a middle aged experienced player, a young talented player or a future Scottish internationalist. What matters is that the team gets strengthened and Dundee are up challenging the old firm next season without forgetting to play well against the smaller teams also.


Whatever happens I know at the end of the day I will be visiting one Scottish side and supporting that one Scottish side.
