Tottenham Hotspur put in a bid for Andy Reid last season of £5million and today they have made a revamped bid of... £3million??? Although they now have a new manager at the helm- somebody must have told him that the new bid is less than one that's already been made! 

Forest's Chief Executive Mark Arthur said: "We rejected Tottenham's offer of £5million for Andy in January, so I don't know what now makes them think we would be willing to do business at £3million.

 "I was disappointed to read Andy's comments in the Sunday Mirror. Joe Kinnear has worked hard to strengthen his squad over the summer and is continuing to do so.

"And to accuse Nigel Doughty of a lack of investment is misguided. We were the third highest spenders in terms of transfer fees in the First Division last season and have one of the largest salary budgets outside the Premiership.

"Nigel put £6.5million into the Club last season - £1.5million out of his own pocket to buy Marlon King and Gareth Taylor and £5million to support the running of the Club.

"Nigel is committed to spending a similar amount this season to again support the day-to-day running of the Club."

Look like Andy will still be playing for us against Spurs next week then doesn't it!
