Johno can't wait

David Johnson has today been speaking to Nottingham's Prmeier newspaper, the Evening Post. He spoke of the hard time the lads are having in pre-season training and also his ambitions for next season. Here are a few of the quotes from the full interview which can be read at thisisnottingham.co.uk.

"The lads were really struggling. Within the camp, it felt like we were never going to do it.

"But with the new manager we got Alan Rogers and Andy Impey in and things started to change.

"Paul Evans and Paul Gerrard also arrived and it just went on from there.

"Now the lads enjoy coming into training every day and the new senior players are bubbly."

He then spoke of the way last season didn't exactly go to plan for him: "I spoke to the manager a few games before I came back and he told me he wanted me to play in the big games," he continued: "I played against Derby but I just wasn't ready. It was too early for me.

"I then spoke to him before the Crewe game and he said he couldn't make his mind up whether to play me or Marlon King. I said I didn't mind.

"Marlon scored two goals that day and both he and Gareth were scoring.

"Looking back on it, it was the best thing I have done since I came to the club because I could get some rest.

"Then Gareth got injured and I got my chance, but I got some great service for the goals."

Promising stuff there from Johno!
