Joe Kinnear values Reid at much more than £5m.

Nottingham Forest boss Joe Kinnear spoke of his joy at having Irish international Andy Reid playing in his side. The Dublin-born manager has stated that he rates the player above any left sided midfielders in the England side and that £5m is just too cheap for such a quality player.

Joe Kinnear has once again stated that he values Andy Reid very highly. In today's edition of the Nottingham Evening Post the Dublin-born manager sand Andy's players saying that he was better than any of the player's in his position in the England squad! Recently there has been much speculation over the future of the fully capped Irish international, and the Reds recieved a bid from then current Spurs at the back end of last season. He said: "I spoke to Tottenham at the end of the season when David Pleat put a £5m bid in for him. "We discussed it at length at boardroom level but we recognise that there just aren't any quality left-sided players about. "Even the England team can't get one." The manager was also asked by the NEP to comment on whether or not Spurs would still like to see him at White Hart Lane now that they have a new manager in at the helm. He said: "Now that Santini has got the job at Spurs, I don't know whether they will come back in for him. "I know he went from Blackburn to Chelsea, but Damien Duff went for £17m last summer and Reidy is going to be pushing him all the way in the Ireland team next season." Joe then went on to speak of Charlton's interest in the player. He said that he no longer believes that the London club are interested in bringing him to the Valley. With Kinnear rating 'Reidy' so highly we will probably be seeing him at The City Ground much longer as he looks to assemble a squad capable of winning promotion this season.
