As previously stated, The Reds are still after a fee of around 3-5 million pounds for the player. boss Joe Kinnear had the following to say on the matter:

"I'm sure he has managed to get a much bigger contract but we will be getting compensation and we are still looking at £3m to £5m for him."

The boss also stated that he can understand why the Scottish international left and admitted that the player's agent had been speaking to Leicester for a long while before he made the move. This means that whilst he was speaking of his love for the club he was also contemplating his move away from here.

Kinnear said: "I've got to say I am disappointed but not surprised. I have been in the game for a long time and, at the end of the day, money talks.

"I thought he was prepared to stay with us but his agent was talking to Leicester for a fair while.

"We find that disappointing but then I suppose that is just the name of the game."
