Nottingham Forest are supposedly interested in Oxford United's Dean Whitehead. The young midfield-playmaker has been linked with several First Division clubs i.e. Reading, Sheffield United, Watford and Sunderland- as well as some lower league sides.

According to several media sources, Joe Kinnear is interested in bringing the services of Oxford's young midfield play-maker Dean Whitehead to The City Ground.

The firm fans favourite has not made as many starts for United as he would like to in recent times, with his career being plagued by injury trouble. However, the player looks to have put that behind him know and will no doubt chose a big, promotion chasing club over a small one like Reading or even Sheffield United!

If we do manage to bring this guy in then he will almost certainly have to setle for a place on the bench. He does, however, look like developing into one hell of a player!
