Gary Birtles managed to grab 96 goals for the club meaning that if he had scored just 4 more goals he would have qualified for the status of "100-goal-wonder." Even closer was Ian Bowyer who guided the ball past the goal line 97 times for The Reds.

Grenvile Morris: The first of the 100 goal wonders was Grenville Morris. Who, you ask? Well he played 460 times for us and scored an incredible 199 goals, which is still a record today! Born in Wales on 13 April 1877, Morris began his footballing career at St Oswald's college and Builith Town and then Aerystwyth.

His first English club was Swindon Town. he signed for them in 1897 and promised a job as a draughtsman at the local railway. He didn't stay with Town for too long, however, and in 1898 we secured his services for £200.

Nigel Clough: A few people have said to me on occasions that Nigel Clough only got into the Forest team because he was his father's son. Not strictly true. And his goalscoring record speaks for itself. 'NR 9' was born in Sunderland in 1966 and followed Forest around the country with his Dad from the age of 9.

Clough didn't win too many caps for England, but he won his first against Chile in 1989. Nigel was a quick- thinking creative player throughout career, although sometimes went through dry spells.

In 1993 he was sold to Liverpool. Here he spent most of his time on the bench and his career was over really. He is now the manager of Burton Albion.

Wally Ardon: Born in 1918, Ardon was one of the players who sadly missed most of their playing careers due to World War 2. The fact that he still managed to score so many goals means that he was a wonderful player and a true Forest legend.

Wally didn't enter league football until he was 27 years old but He scored 94 goals in 122 League games and in 1948-9 was the Third Division North's leading scorer with 32 goals. Most of these came of crosses and were headed into the back of the net. His main supplier was Fred Scott.

Ardron ended his League career in 1955, playing for only two clubs. He sadly passed away in 1978.

Johnny Dent: Dent was born in Spennymoor on January 31st 1903. He joined his local club Spennymoor Rangers when he was already 16. After moving on to Tudhoe United he then began his League career with Third Division North's Durham City.

He joined Forest, from Huddersfield, for £1,500 in October 1929. He instantly commanded a place in the first team as a center-forward. During his seven years at the club he scored 122 goals in 206 appearances.

Johnny died in 1979. Rest in Peace.

Ian Storey-Moore: Ian was born in January 1945. He was discovered by a Forest scout whilst playing junior football in Scunthope. He signed a professional contract with the Reds in 1961 and was an immediate hit!

He was the Reds' top scorer in 1966-7, 1968-9, 1969-70, 1970-71 and 1971-72- even though he left the club for Derby County in February 1972!

Ian's last club was Manchester United, although he was forced to retire whilst there, through injury. He is now a scout at The City Ground.

Enoch West: Born in Hucknall in 1884 and started his career in Yorkshire at Sheffield United. He was not a first-team player at Bramall Lane and they sold him to us for just a fiver!

Enoch helped prove the theory that all from Yorkshire are stupid by netting over 100 goals for Nottingham Forest.

He then proved the opposite by helping to fix a game and being banned from football for 30 years!
