Notts County director Steve Thompson have denied that they are in advanced stages of negotioations with Forest for the signature of Paul Heffernan and have stated that a bid hasn't even been made.

Notts County denied that they have had an offer from the Reds for Paul Heffernan, today. This is sure to upset many fans who were looking forward to the prospect of having such a hot youngster plying his trade here,

"There have been no official offers at all," said Notts' director, Steve Thompson. "There has been a lot of talk, but nothing official, certainly nothing in writing.

"We have had calls from one or two clubs asking what the situation is, but none have made an offer.

"And we categorically have had no contact from Forest.

They also mentioned that if they do not recieve an offer which they conclude to be good enough, then they will go to a tribunal.

"The money we get for Paul is going to have a direct impact on the budget we have for next season," He said, "If anyone does want him, please get in touch."

Now Kinnear has heard of the fans' enthuisasm for bringing in this player, the popularity that he would be sure to obtain could act as an incentive for signing him up.
