ORLFC have decided to announce the signing of 17 year old John Mitchell who was today signed on a 2 year contract. Mitchell is a local lad who can play either loose forward or half-back. Not the big signing that Roughyed fans were hoping for in view of the recent departures, but good luck to the lad

NEW SIGNING

Oldham Roughyeds have just signed local lad John Mitchell on a two year contract. Mitchell has been playing for the academy team this season and has obviously impressed both John Harbin and Mark Knight. He is a 17 year old who played for local amateurs Waterhead and can play either loose forward or half back.

Kevin Mannion
Simon Knox

Roughyed fans were hoping that the club were about to make a big signing to replace the growing number of players who have recently decided to leave the club. Simon Knox was allowed to sign for Leigh Centurions despite signing a one year contract at the start of the season. Similary Kevin Mannion has decided to take up a position with Orrell RUFC. There are also rumours that Oldham's other big pre-season signing Tommy Hodgkinson will be leaving the club soon, but as yet there ORLFC are refusing to confirm this. Hopefully the Roughyeds are in negotiations with established players and further signings will follow soon.
